Building Confidence, Voice, and Purpose

Middle School is where students begin to take ownership of their learning and discover who they are. At Charleston Collegiate, they’re supported by engaged teachers, challenged academically, and encouraged to take risks in a safe, supportive environment.

With the right balance of freedom and structure, students build the skills—and confidence—they need for high school and beyond. Students are given voice and choice in their learning and school experience, supported in a culture where they can fail forward and grow through mistakes, and encouraged to connect their learning to real-world purpose and meaning.

Beyond the Classroom

Middle School at CCS extends well beyond academics. Students participate in overnight experiences and student-designed opportunities that build independence and collaboration. They also engage in athletics, including opportunities to participate on high school teams, and take part in signature traditions such as the 8th Grade Lock-In and student-led class trip.

Middle School Winterim at Charleston Collegiate School is an immersive, wwek long learning experience that takes students beyond the traditional classroom. Rooted in the school’s project-based and experiential approach, Winterim allows students to explore new interests, collaborate with peers, and engage in hands-on activities, local excursions, and real-world learning opportunities. It’s a chance for middle schoolers to deepen curiosity, build skills, and connect learning to the world around them.
